| This post might be a little late because Chic magazine has already published their 2nd issue early this month. Got to know it through a facebook group and went to get it as I'm always curious about local stuffs. Another reason for buying it is because the freebies inside is TOO eye catching to avoid.. Haha.. For $2.80, you get a local fashion magazine with a freebie! Oh btw this pink one is the 2nd issue of CHIC, this issue seems rather plain compared to the first issue but all in all, it was a great effort of the team to have published this magazine.
The first issue was more interesting as they did a great introduction of Singapore's very own Haji lane, an alley way at Arab street area with many little designer shops lined up in the shop houses. Fusion of old and modern stuffs there, and it's becoming a niche area for local youngsters to hang out. Oh and do check out the shop Victoria Jomo, and go take a peek at the owner of the shop. The mum and daughter team looked really really like in my point of view.. LOL! Hmm anyways, publishing a magazine focusing on local talents and fashion scene is really something CHALLENGING as Singapore is sooo small.. I guess CHIC is really trying something different from other magazines. But I hope they won't run out of ideas to write too quickly. If they're going to write about indie fashion/talent stuffs of Singapore, very possibly they'll run out of ideas by the time they get to the 15th issue. I'm looking forward to the 3rd issue, let's see what the editor and her team can come up with. Nonetheless, come on and support local talent, people! | | |
| Had supper meet-up with Phile, mud, roddie & jun.. Phile's back from hk for a holiday here, so he's craving for true blue Singaporean roti prata (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roti_prata). Went to the cheese prata shop near NUS. Everything was pretty SOP until everyone's food came EXCEPT mine.. And I waited, waited, waited until everyone finished their food already, my mee soup still havent come
Even jun's food came quite slow, was finished too.
Mud : Eh Eugene, how ah? Your mee soup forever nv come..
Zzzz so I decided to cancel the food from the uncle and luckily it didn't come when decided to cancel it. Cuz usually when you want to cancel the order, then the food will suddenly appear one.. So as we're preparing to go, 2 girls came into the shop and seated just behind jun. As I was just staring to empty space at their direction, something phenomenal happened right before my EYES
SUDDENLY, a prata shop waiter uncle gracefully flown over to their table and went,
Uncle : Do you need menu girls?! *Passes the menu efficiently* Girls : *Smiles and orders* Uncle : *Happiest man alive facial expression*
As you might have predicted, THEIR MEE GORENG WAS SERVED UP IN RECORD TIME! DRINKS, FOOD, UTENSILS, EVERYTHING WAS SWIFT LIKE JACKIE CHAN!
Mud looked over to their table and started laughing non-stop! Hahahaha wtf man uncle.. I salute you la! ARGHHH next time when I go, I will prepare wig and fake D-cup boobs, maybe my mee soup will be free of charge somemore
Best fren la uncle...

This entry marks my new life after army. Freedom will only be cherished this much when you lose it. It's the longest 2 yrs of my life if you ask me.. Even 6 years of primary school or 4 years of secondary school passed faster than my service term.. Blessed to have cleared it successfully. For the people who're part of my life in the 2 yrs, all the best to ur upcoming lives and I'm gonna go have my share of fun too.
Today is day 2 of my 'new' freedom. Life's gonna get better, cuz I believe!! Lots of packing, sorting of stuffs to do, lots of magazines waiting to be cleared, damn I need some f*rking space in here!!! ARGH!
Oh and do check out this entry of Singaporean singer Tay Kewei.. Inspiring and somehow makes me sad... sigh.. http://taykewei.blogspot.com/2009/07/plastic-mannequin-love-original-song.html

| After my lappy broke down, it seems that I had sooo much extra time out of a sudden. It really feels good to be free from the net for awhile and surprisingly, I started to pack my desk, cupboard, old clothes and stuff! Great sense of achievement
Well anyways, there's such a big commotion on the swine flu issue recently and it seems to be more serious than the previous SARS incident. (First it was birds, now pigs.. ) But couldn't blame the animals, they must had been having a hard time ever since we humans started to rear them for meat so finally they're getting back at us with all these flus
So what has this flu gonna have to do with me? OF COURSE IT DOES!! X-Japan will be stopping over at Taiwan for their world tour on this May 30th!!! I got this info from my friend and he's very very keen on going and I'm equally excited as well!
X JAPAN World Tour Live in Taipei X JAPAN 世界巡迴台灣公演 日程確定!!! ~本当にやる夜~

Anyways it reads 30th May, X japan concert has been confirmed! But I dun know whether the SWINE flu is going to SWINE away X japan cuz it seems like the situation everyday seems to go from bad to worst.. Any taiwan readers out there?!?!?! Can you tell me how's the situation over at taiwan now? Is it really that bad?? Should I still go for the live?!?! My parents are 100% against this idea but I really wanna go..
And I've gone into a shopping craze recently and I've spent about $400 sg on apparel this month!! And Taiwan sounds like a shopping mecca~!~! HOW HOW HOW?!?!?! SHOULD I GO OR NOT?!?!?!! I need to decide tomorrow or asap before the air tick price increases!!

| Damn I think I'm suffering from the too-lazy-to-update-xanga syndrome lately! And to add to that mishap, I couldn't seem to get my pics uploaded too! It's really a pain in the a*s when you spent 15-20 mins choosing the pictures to upload and get greeted by the "CONNECTION INTERUPTED" message after clicking on the UPLOAD button! Wtf... Maybe they should give other messages like "YOU GOT PUNKED! ASSHOLE" or "HEY LOSER, YOUR CONNECTION IS SCREWED AND THERE'S NO REASON WHY"...
Well anyways, this entry isn't about the rants about the connection issue... It's about an insight that I had during one of the air/space staring sessions I had in camp..
Question in my mind Lets say you are an invisble spirit that's floating about looking at lives of 2 different guys. Let's name them A and B, with A being the first & B being the second. Guy A Guy B
Guy A's life So A is that kinda guy who's sociable, presentable and confident which makes him a lady's magnet wherever he goes. He's been in and out of short term relationships with different girls with a frequency of say 4 girls in 3 months? We assume that all the girls involved in the above situations had slept with him because all of the girls loved him really dearly. Like the saying goes, Guys are sex first, love later, and Girls are love first, sex later. But usually girls are willing to exchange love for sex and Guy A knows that very well.. That's Guy A's life.
Guy B's life B is an ordinary guy, the kind of guy-next-door you would probably not notice while walking along town but overall he's a nice guy. Usually guys who are in this category more or less have problems with getting to know more girls & thus not having much social meetings with the opposite gender. Thus he might need someway to cater to his needs of having someone to talk to and satisfy him. So he's a frequent visitor to the brothel/parlours with a frequency of 1 girl per month? That's Guy B's life.
In case you are wondering, both guys practice safe sex in the scenarios. lol
Alrite here's the thing that's confusing me.. 1) Is Guy A or Guy B wronger? (Haha I can't think of the proper word la! But you get what I mean right?) 2) Which of them will have Karma come chasing on them? 3) So is it wrong to find prostitutes? But what about breaking girls' hearts for sex? 4) Maybe we are all born to make mistakes so actually whatever we do is still wrong someway or another?
After so much thinking and listening to different people's opinions, I've came out with an answer to myself.. I feel this scenario gives us a good reminder that life is dynamic, it is not bounded by what people think. One person might think it's wrong, but the other person might think else wise. But ultimately you still have to make a choice and be happy about it. This is what makes life so interesting and exciting because you lead your own path and there's so much possibilities! But of course, the bottom line is to use love as a guideline and you'll light up other people's lives like how the sun give us light and warmth!
P.S : Happy 21st to Rachel and thx for inviting!! (Why does my face look so stern?! ARGH must be the rain..)
Cheers!
